How can you convert a table with header rows into a merge data table?L

1. Select the entire table and all its contents. The easiest way to get this right is to put the mouse pointer on the top or left edge of a cell in the table. When the pointer is in the right place, it will turn into an arrow that points straight up or straight left depending on which edge you pick. At this point, triple-click (click three times, quickly).

2. Press the Delete key on the keyboard. You should get a dialog box with six choices.

Choose "Convert to Merge Data File (first row becomes field names)".

Click OK.

If the table is actually deleted, you are able to undo it by clicking on Edit | Undo. Reselect the table and try again.

3. The table should now be in data file format with ENDFIELD and ENDRECORD markers, and the merge toolbar should appear.

Click Edit/Undo.

4. The data should now appear in table form.

Right-click somewhere in the first row, select Format/Row, and then select Header/Row (repeats on each page).
