When to Use Capture or Import Video in VideoStudio

The Capture Video option should be used when you are importing video from the following devices.

1. Tape/DV cameras and webcams
2. TV Cards,
3. Internal /External capturing devices
4. Analog imports includes importing from any analog device through capture devices.

• VHS
• S-VHS
• Video 8 or Hi8 camcorders
• VCR
• DV/HDV camcorders

The Import from digital media option should be used when you are importing video from the following sources.

1. DVD/DVD-VR
2. AVCHD
3. BDMV
4. Hard Drives
5. CD-ROM
6. SD memory card video cameras (Most of the new video cameras).
