After installing other software, Spell Checker, Thesaurus, and Prompt-As-You- Go™ are not available.
This may happen if your Writing Tools registry entries are damaged. 'Repair the Writing Tools registry entries'NOTE: This article deals with editing the registry. It is recommended that you backup your registry prior to modifying it.
- Click on Start and select Run...
- In the Open box type "regedit" (without the quotes) and click on OK
- Click on the (+) plus sign beside HKEY_CURRENT_USER
- Click on the (+) plus sign beside Software
- Click on the (+) plus sign beside Corel
- Right Click on the folder called WritingTools, Select Delete and answer Yes when prompted if you are sure
- Click on the (+) plus sign beside WordPerfect
- Click on the (+) plus sign beside 14, 13, 12, 11 or 10 (Depending on what version of WordPerfect you have)
- Right Click on the folder called WritingTools
- Select Delete and answer Yes when prompted if you are sure
- Click on the (+) plus sign beside HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
- Click on the (+) plus sign beside Software
- Click on the (+) plus sign beside Corel
- Right Click on the folder called WritingTools
- Select Delete and answer Yes when prompted if you are sure
- Click on the (+) plus sign beside WordPerfect
- Click on the (+) plus sign beside 14, 13, 12, 11 or 10 (Depending on what version of WordPerfect you have)
- Right Click on the folder called WritingTools, Select Delete and answer Yes when prompted if you are sure
- Close the registry editor
- Insert your installation CD in the CD-ROM drive and from the autorun screen select "WordPerfect, Quattro Pro and Presentations
NOTE: If this screen does not come up automatically, Go to Start, Run... and type "x:\setup" or for WP 10 "x:\setup32" (without the quotes & where x is the letter for your CD-ROM drive) and click on OK.
- From the setup screen, select the option to repair (or update for WP 10) and click on Next
- Follow the installation prompts to finish the install
