This document outlines how to install the Electronic Software Distribution (ESD) version of Corel WordPerfect Lightning Version 1 Microsoft Office Module after you have purchased and downloaded it.
When you purchase an ESD version of a Corel product, it is considered a "Trial Version" until you activate it by carrying out one of the following procedures:
- Using online methods to install and activate the product - Follow this procedure if you have an active Internet connection when you install the product and start it for the first time.
- Using offline methods to install and activate the product - Follow this procedure if you have no active Internet connection when you install the product and start it for the first time.
If you experience problems with installing or activating the product, please contact Technical Support.
Using online methods to install and activate the product
- Initiate the installation process. If you are prompted to sign in to your Corel Account, provide the e-mail address and password that you used to purchase the product.
- Complete the installation process.
- Start the application. When you start the application for the first time, a dialog box prompts you to activate the product immediately (by clicking "Activate now!") or to postpone activating the product (by clicking "Continue"). If you do not activate the product before the indicated deadline, you cannot use it indefinitely. *There are many ways to launch the main applications - for example, you can launch the applications from the Windows Start menu or by double-clicking any of the WordPerfect Office icons from the desktop, including Try WordPerfect.
- When you have successfully activated the product, a "Thank You" screen indicates that the product is now fully functional and ready for use. It is highly recommended that you record your Activation Code and Purchase Key by clicking either "Save to File" or "Print Now".
Using offline methods to install and activate the product
- Initiate the installation process. When you are prompted to connect to the Internet, phone Corel, or enter a Trial serial number, type your Purchase Key in the box provided, and then click "Continue". Your Purchase Key is the serial number provided in the Corel Store Receipt that was e-mailed to you when you completed your order online.
- Complete the installation process.
- Start the application. When you start the application for the first time, a "Welcome" screen is displayed. Click "Already Purchased", and in the dialog box that appears, type your Purchase Key in the box provided.
When you are prompted to activate the product, do one of the following:
- Activate the product online by connecting to the Internet and clicking "Connect".
- Activate the product by phone by typing your Purchase Key in the box provided and then clicking "Phone Corel" to contact Technical Support and request an Activation Code.
- Activate the product with your existing Activation Code by typing your Purchase Key and Activation Code in the boxes provided and clicking "Continue". If you do not have an existing Activation Code (for example, if this is the first time you are installing the product), you cannot use this method.
- When you have successfully activated the product, a "Thank You" screen indicates that the product is now fully functional and ready for use. It is highly recommended that you record your Activation Code and Purchase Key by clicking either "Save to File" or "Print Now".
NOTE: If you have purchased a license of Corel software through our Transactional or Contractual Licensing Programs, you need to install using the License Media Pack (LMP) ordered with your License. You may not install and activate a download version of the software.
