WordPerfect flashes (redraws) its window every few minutes

Symptoms:

Every few minutes, WordPerfect flashes/flickers. On slower machines, one may notice each individual button being redrawn on slower machines.

Cause:

This is caused with some video cards when the Windows Wallpaper changes, causing a Window refresh message to go out to open applications

Resolution:

  1. Close or minimize WordPerfect (be sure to save your work first!)
  2. Minimize all other windows by pressing WinKey + D on your keyboard.
  3. Right-click on the desktop and choose Personalize
  4. Set Windows to a background that does not change.
