Ensure your DV Camcorder is listed in Device Manager, if your Camcorder is not listed in Device Manger then, it won’t be accessible within Pinnacle Studio.
When you hook up your DV Camcorder into a computer’s DV/Firewire (IEEE1394) port. Windows operating system detects and lists the Camcorder under ‘Imaging devices’ in Device Manager, see the screenshot below.
If you cannot see your camcorder listed in Device manger then you need to check your camcorder’s manufacturer website for available driver or firmware updates.
Sometimes installing legacy 1394 bus drivers, as steps suggested in Microsoft article below, resolves the issue.
