PaintShop Pro X5 crashing with faulting module libmplayer dl

It has been found that a certain Dynamic Library module called libmplayer.dll that comes from a product called Applian Replay Converter V4 or QQ Player interferes with PaintShop Pro launching properly. When launching PaintShop Pro, it will generate a Windows error box that Corel PaintShop Pro X5 has stopped Responding, resulting in the program shutting down. Resolution:

To fix this issue, locate within Windows the file named "libmplayer.dll" and rename it to "libmplayerOLD.dll". This may cause you to lose some functionality within QQ Player or Applian 'Replay Converter V4', however it will no longer interfere with PaintShop Pro X5 opening.

To do a search in Windows Vista or 7:

  1. Click the START button
  2. Type: libmplayer.dll in the Search Programs and Files entry box in the START menu
  3. Press Enter on your keyboard

To do a search in Windows XP:

  1. Click the START button
  2. Click on Search in the START menu
  3. Type: libmplayer.dll in the search all files box
  4. Press Enter on your keyboard
