When inserting a clip from a DVD disc source with Video_RM folder (aside from the main VIDEO_TS folder), VideoStudio Pro X5 hangs.

The Video_RM folder is part of the video recording format that some DVD set-top recorders use (e.g. Philips). It holds the recorder meta-data information used by the recorder and will be ignored by any DVD Player. However, some DVD set-top recorders do not comply with the DVD Video format and this is where your problem starts.VideoStudio Pro X5 only support the following DVD logical format: 1.DVD-Video (Video_TS folder) 2.DVD-VR (RTAV folder) 3.AVCHD (BDMV folder)
To insert a video clip from a DVD-Video with VIDEO_RM, copy the DVD content into your hard drive andchange the VOB file extension (*.VOB) into MPEG-2 file extension (*.MPG):

To change the file extension from VOB to MPG: 1.) Close your VideoStudio (close all the programs running on your computer). 2.) Double-click Computer icon from your desktop to launch Windows Explorer and see the list of your drives. 3.) Right-click on the drive where you inserted your DVD disc and select Explore. 4.) You should now be able to see the contents of your DVD: VIDEO_RM and VIDEO_TS. 5.) Double-click VIDEO_TS to see the following contents (please note that this may not be exactly similar to yours): VIDEO_TS.BUP, VIDEO_TS.IFO, VIDEO_TS.VOB, VTS_01_0.BUP, VTS_01_0.IFO, and VTS_01_1.VOB. 6.) Copy the VTS_01_1.VOB to your desktop and RENAME the VTS_01_1.VOB to VTS_01_1.MPG. 7.) Launch VideoStudio and import VTS_01_1.MPG by right-clicking the Storyboard/Timeline panel and select Insert Video. You should now be able to import this video clip to your VideoStudio. If you can't see the file extensions (e.g. *.IFO, *.BUP, *.VOB, *.MPG), please do the following: 1.) Launch Windows Explorer and go to Tools > Folder Options. If you can't find the Toolbar (Windows Vista/7), just press the Alt key while you are in the Windows Explorer. 2.) Under View tab, uncheck Hide extensions for known file types
