How to restore a deleted or corrupted SmartSound on Corel VideoStudio Pro X3 or Pro X4

If SmartSounds on your computer have been damaged or corrupted, reinstalling VideoStudio will not resolve the problem, since Smartsounds are installed separately with VideoStudio. To fix the problem with SmartSound, you can restore or reinstall them without reinstalling VideoStudio.

To restore a deleted or corrupted SmartSound for Corel VideoStudio Pro X3 or Pro X4, please follow the steps below:

If you ordered the download or Electronic Software Download (ESD)

1. Visit http://www.smartsound.com/support/updates.html?product=ulead
2. Then just follow the steps indicated on smartsound's web site.
If you purchased the box or disc version of Corel VideoStudio Pro X3 or Pro X4, you can follow these steps.

1. Uninstalling all SMARTSOUND entry via Windows ADD/REMOVE section.
2. You can go to Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features
3. Locate SmartSound Common Data and SmartSound QuicTracks 5, then uninstall each of the entry.
4. Once done, you can run the installer which is located from the disc installer under the folder "\Setup\RunTime\CommonDataInstaller"
5. Inside the "CommonDataInstaller" double-click the SETUP file to start the installation process, then go back to \Setup\RunTime" then open the "Quicktracks5Installer" folder from there you can run the SETUP file to install the SmartSound QuicTracks 5.
