Resetting VideoStudio Pro X5 to its Factory Default Setting

In order to reset VideoStudio Pro X5 to its factory default setting, you will need to rename or remove a specific folder under your User Profile folder.

Before performing this procedure, please ensure that VideoStudio Pro X5 is not running.

Note: This will reset your library and you may need to re-import your videos once completed.

On Windows Vista/7:

  1. Click on Start.
  2. Click in the search box at the bottom of the Start menu.
  3. Type in: %appdata% and hit enter.
  4. In the new window, find the Ulead Systems folder.
  5. Open the Ulead Systems folder.
  6. Open the Corel VideoStudio Pro folder.
  7. There should be a folder named 15.0 here.
  8. Rename 15.0 to 15.0_old.
  9. Launch VideoStudio Pro X5.


On Windows XP:

  1. Click on Start.
  2. Select Run.
  3. Type in %appdata% and click the OK button.
  4. In the new window, find the Ulead Systems folder.
  5. Open the Ulead Systems folder.
  6. Open the Corel VideoStudio Pro folder.
  7. There should be a folder named 15.0 here.
  8. Rename 15.0 to 15.0_old.
  9. Launch VideoStudio Pro X5

Once you have renamed the folder, VideoStudio Pro X5 will now reset to its factory default settings when you launch the program.
