Manually Removing CorelDRAW® Graphics Suite from Systems Running Windows® XP, Windows® 7, or Windows® Vista.

This document outlines how to manually remove CorelDRAW® Graphics Suite X3, X4 and X5 from systems running Windows® XP, Vista or Windows 7 should the application fail to uninstall using Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

Before you remove and reinstall a program, patch or update, you have to log in as administrator. The only way to get full administrator access on Vista/Windows 7 is by turning off the User Account Control and right-clicking on a program, patch or update and then going to "Run as Administrator". Otherwise, you will have problems working properly on your system. Click on the links below to learn how to turn-off UAC:

Before you uninstall a program, please check whether you have installed the program as a user or an administrator. You will not find some parts of the program, if you are logged in as a user, but you installed the software with your administrator account.


Uninstalling the Program

  1. Disable your anti-virus/spyware, and firewall during this clean re-installation procedure.
  2. Download and install the Corel Installer. This will remove all registry keys associated with the CorelDRAW install process.
  3. Run the Corel Uninstaller.
    1. Double-click on the Corel Uninstaller or right-click and run as Administrator if you are on Windows Vista.
    2. Make a check-mark next to all CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4 entries.
    3. Click Next.
  4. Manually delete "CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X3, X4 or X5" program folders from the hard drive.
    1. Click Start | Run | type Explorer and click OK.
    2. Browse to X:\Program Files\Corel (X represents the drive where "CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X3, X4 or X5" had been installed).
    3. Highlight and delete the "CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X3, X4 or X5" folder.
  5. Manually delete the Corel User data directories. (For Windows Vista or Windows 7):
    1. Click Start | All Programs | Accessories | Run | type %appdata% and click OK.
    2. Browse to the Corel folder.
    3. Highlight and delete the "CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5" folder.
  6. For Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    1. Click Start | All Programs | Accessories | Run | type %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\corel\ and click OK.
    2. Highlight and delete the "CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X3, X4 or X5" folder.


Removing the Program Registry

WARNING: Editing the Windows Registry is NOT recommended for those unfamiliar with registry editing. Be sure to back-up the registry prior to making any changes.

  1. To back-up registry, go to REGEDIT | File | Export
    1. Windows Vista or Windows 7: Click Start | All Programs |Accessories | Run | type Regedit and click OK.
    2. Windows XP: Click Start | Run | type Regedit and click OK.

  2. Remove CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X3, X4 or X5 registry keys from the Windows Registry.
    1. Windows Vista or Windows 7: Click Start | All Programs |Accessories | Run | type Regedit and click OK.
    2. Windows XP: Click Start | Run | type Regedit and click OK.
    3. Delete the following keys (Note: X3 = 13.0, X4 = 14.0, X5 = 15.0):

Windows XP/Vista 64 Bit or Windows 7 (Note: X3 = 13.0, X4 = 14.0, X5 = 15.0):

IMPORTANT: Please make sure you restart the system, so that the changes take effect.
