Working with Cloud Service Accounts

WinZip applications provide features that incorporate the use of cloud services. This article gives brief information about what they are and how to begin using them.

What are Cloud Services?

There does not seem to be one particular definition for the cloud or for cloud services. When reference is made to WinZip applications, the cloud refers to a distributed storage network that one can use through the internet or some other network. Most references to cloud services, again in WinZip applications, mean particular providers of these services. The actual "services" that WinZip applications provide involve storage and sharing.

By creating cloud service accounts and uploading files to them, you will be able to make use of them from nearly any location, and you can access them using multiple devices. As mentioned above, files you upload can be shared with others, who then can download them.

What Cloud Services can be used?

WinZip can connect to and make use of eight different cloud services at this time. Each of these services offers a free option, with various paid subscriptions for larger storage amounts and, in some cases, additional options. The amount of storage provided varies from service to service.

The listing below provides hypertext links to each service and lists the free storage amount and the free sharing amount available with each. The sharing size would be the largest file size you can upload and send without purchasing a subscription. These sizes are not set by WinZip and may change at any time.
