WordPerfect: How to enable File Logging to troubleshoot file access issues

You receive errors when saving / opening files. A technician may request a "File Log". This article describes how to enable file logging in WordPerfect.


  1. Open WordPerfect
  2. Click Tools menu > Settings..., Environment icon
  3. Click the Diagnostics tab
  4. Put a checkmark next to "File logging".
  5. Note the location of the file log. You can specify a different location if you wish.
  6. Once you have seen the problem happen two or more times, email the file log to the technician.
