- Update to the latest version of Direct X from the Microsoft website below
- Go to Microsoft DirectX download page.
- Follow the on screen instructions to download the latest DirectX End-User Runtime.
- Once the download has completed, locate and run the DirectX installation.
- After installation, you will need to reboot your computer.
- Update your video drivers. To find out what video device you need to update.
- Windows XP: Click on Start --> Run.
- Windows 7 and Vista: Click on Start --> and click in the Search field to activate the cursor.
- Type "dxdiag" and click on the OK.
- Click the Display tab at the top of that window and note your Device Name and Manufacturer.
- You can access the drivers by visiting your computer manufacturer's website or by going to the video card manufacturer's website directly.
- Disable startup items.

Windows XP: Click on the Start button and select Run
Windows 7 and Vista: Click on Start --> and click in the Search field to activate the cursor. - Type "msconfig" and click on the OK button or press the "Enter" key.
- Select the Startup tab over on the right side.
- Write down which items are checked, and then click the Disable All button in the lower right corner of the screen.
- Click on the Apply button and then click on OK.
- Click YES to restart the computer.
- After rebooting, you may receive a message saying "You have used the 'System Configuration Utility' to make changes to your system....". If you get this message, simply place a checkmark in a box on the lower left side titled, "Do not show me this message again" and click the OK button.
Note: To reverse these changes, follow steps a to c, and then place the checkmarks back in the boxes based on the notes you made. For optimal performance, only Anti-Virus or Firewall software should be enabled (for this test all should be disabled).

Windows XP: Click on the Start button and select Run
- Save your project as a disc image and burn it.
- Start MyDVD directly by clicking Start-->All Programs--> Roxio Easy Media Creator-->Video and then MyDVD.
Note: It is important to open the program using this step instead of going through the home menu.
- Start MyDVD directly by clicking Start-->All Programs--> Roxio Easy Media Creator-->Video and then MyDVD.
- After the project is loaded or created, click Tools --> Options, then under Render Using, select Software.
- If your show is under 1 hour, go to File --> Project settings and choose High Quality (HQ). If it is over an hour choose checkbox next toFit to Disc.
Note: Depending on the combination of audio items in your project, you may wish to click the radio button to "Normalize audio levels" box. - Save your MyDVD creation.
- Select the Burn button, then select Save as Image (ISO)
- When complete, close MyDVD and open Disc Copier or Video Copy and Convert with the Start-->All programs method. Burn the DVD from the ISO file.
Note: The DVD will be burned at the same quality found in the ISO File.
